PN Ascot Blog 2017/18: Walking in the Jungle

This week we have been learning more about animals that live in the jungle.

We went on another animal search. We had to climb up the playground equipment to find them all.

Miss Cha Cha: "How many tigers do you have?"
Paras: "Two tigers!"

Miss Cha Cha: "Where is the elephant?"
Army: (Picked up the elephant).

We learned about monkeys on Monday.

We know that monkeys like to eat bananas, jump, and swing through the trees. We fed our class monkey bananas and other yellow fruits that we found in the classroom.

For art we made swinging monkeys.

Sun Sun finished gluing the monkey's face onto its head and said "eyes please".

Miss Cha Cha: "What shape is the monkey's face?"
Paras: "It is a heart."

We also learned about tigers this week. They are orange and black and say "roar". We made tigers this week too. We gave our tiger black stripes.

For science, we watched another caterpillar turn into a butterfly. The kids set it free on Tuesday with Kru. Aum and P' Loi.

We also did another color experiment. We made lava lamps. We used oil, water, and food coloring.

They loved watching the colorful bubbles go up and down. They took turns counting to 3 and dropping in the tablets to make the bubbles. This was a great exercise for them to practice sitting and listening, identifying colors, and to practice their counting.

We went over classroom rules and practiced different things we need to do to be good listeners. We need to look at the teacher, listen with our years, close our lips, sit nicely, and participate in the activities.

We have also been making great progress with the potty training. We started a potty training sticker chart. If the someone gets 4 stickers in a day then they get a special sticker and a prize. On Thursday both Paras and Army used the toilet 4 times and slept through nap time with no diaper and no accidents. Great job!
