Pets, Pets, Pets

This week we have been learning about pets. Pets are animals that live in our homes and that we take care of.  Some of the pets we have been introduced to are frogs, fish, turtles, dogs, and cats.

Art 

For art, we made green turtles. Our turtle had a green shell, 4 brown legs, and 1 brown head.

We also made a fish tank for our pet fish. We painted it blue, added sand, glued on some green plants (so our fish had food to eat), and lastly added in many colorful fish.

Math 

For math, we did water play. We put in all of the pets we could find that like to swim. We put in pet fish, frogs, and turtles. We counted to see how many we had of each. We used our motor skills to try and catch the animals with our nets.

Science 

Oh no! All of our pets went outside and got very dirty. When our pets get dirty we have to clean them. We practiced taking care of our pets by giving them a bath. We used water, sponges, and soap.

Daimyo finished washing his frog, handed it to me, and said, "all clean"!

Uno has started pushing the wheelbarrow around the playground and pretending to be the Ice cream man. "Miss Cha Cha, Ice cream". He give Ice cream to all of his teachers and friends.

Star of the Week 

The Star of the Week is Paras! Paras's confidence has grown so much this year. She has always been timid in new environments and around new people. This week she confidently spoke in front of new people and has been saying hello to familiar people around the school. Paras has also demonstrated commitment. We have begun potty training this term, Paras is able to tell an adult when she needs to use the toilet, as well as, sleep through nap time with no accidents.  Great job this week Paras. Thank you for be a confident, committed, and creative student this week!
