Week 2 in Pre-Nursery!

Wow! Week 2 has had so many great improvements. The students are much happier, confident, and comfortable in the classroom. They are all feeding themselves at lunch and getting use to classroom routines. It has been wonderful seeing their personalities come out a little more and more each day.

We have been focusing on developing our motor skills, playing together, and getting familiar with our classroom. Here are some highlights of the week!

Firstly, Army joined our class today. Welcome to Pre-Nursery!

Secondly, Tuesday we celebrated Uno's 2nd Birthday! Thank you for bringing in
the cupcakes and stickers.

On Monday we did some exploring in the sandbox. We used shovels, spoons, and
our hands to dig up animals buried under the sand. The kids enjoyed finding the animals
and making up actions for the different animals.

On Tuesday, we practiced our sharing skills by doing a group painting activity.
We all used one large piece of paper to create a class painting. We used paint
brushes, stamp rollers, toy cars, shapes, and of course our hands! I was very
impressed with how well the students could hold and use the paintbrushes.
Some of them were even able to hold and paint the shapes themselves before
stamping them on paper.

The painting is now hanging up outside of the classroom!

Today, we did water discovery. We put different toys around the class room into the water to see if the toys floated on top of the water or sank to the bottom of the water. After we had all the toys in the water, we played. We searched for animals and practiced saying their names. I was excited to see that they remembered some of the animals from Monday. We also added some soap to the water to create bubbles and to practice washing our dishes!

Excited to see what fun we have the rest of the week. Tomorrow will be their first swimming class. After watching their excitement with water play today, I think that they are all going to love swimming. I will update the blog again this Friday.

Thanks,

Miss Cha Cha
