Circles all around us

Circles all around

This week we are learning about circles. It has been great watching them recognize circles around the classroom as well as in the play room. I introduced students to circles by making a circle sensory bin. This is a basket full of circle shaped objects. Inside the bin there are cotton balls, bells, tape, toy oranges, balls, wooden circles, cups, plates, buttons, etc. I slowly introduced the different objects while playing with play-doh. Students than began using the objects to make circle indents in the play-doh.

Finding Shapes in the Soft Play Room

While playing in the soft play room we identified different shapes that we saw. We saw many squares, triangles, and CIRCLES!

Painting with Circles

On Tuesday we did a painting activities using cups. We dipped the cups in the paint to make many colorful circles all over our paper. Some students took other circular objects from the sensory bin to add more circles and colors to their picture.

We have had a small class this week. I hope that everyone feels better soon! We miss having all of our friends in class and are excited for them all to return. I will post another blog on Friday with more pictures and fun activities.
